(More recent happenings are here)

My goal — as a researcher and in life in general — is to make a positive impact on the people, structures, and society around me.

I enjoy bringing my research and other scholarly messages to public audiences. I conduct interviews with news media and contribute articles to popular presses. I have returned to my home town high school multiple times to speak to Psychology students about my research. And I give invited talks to audiences outside of the academic research community whenever possible (invitations welcome).

Some of my research projects are also public facing, such as the STEM Game Crew website, created in collaboration with WKAR.

I am also involved local education initiatives that relate to my research topics, e.g., I am on the program committee for the Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC), which provides after-school STEM programming for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
